JingDong Shows Promise For A Huge 2019

JD.com, also known as JingDong, has more than 300 million customers across China which makes them the largest retailer in the entire country. They’re known for their fast shipping and technological advances that they are making throughout many different sectors of retail. JD.com made a lot of advances and had a lot of accomplishments and it looks like 2019 might be shaping up to be an even bigger year with big promotions and big advances.

 

On January 4, 2019, JD.com held “Super Bumblebee Day” to celebrate the release of Transformers’ Bumblebee across theatres in China. Along with a big sale on Bumblebee themed items, they also had an exclusive Red Knight action available for sale.

 

Thing exclusive character was featured in 3 new short movies from JingDong. Paramount Pictures had partnered with the retailer in 2017 to promote Transformers as well. During the 2018 winter holiday season, they featured a popular promotion that involved Hello Kitty and their exclusive Joy character that is seen throughout much of their branding.

 

On a technological side, some of their big things that they are bringing this year were featured at CES. 2019 was the first year that JingDong had participated in the event that features technological advances from around the globe. In their booth, they featured the theme of “Delivering the Future of Shopping”. It featured the logistics system of the company that is able to make deliveries to remote regions in China. Not only does JD.com feature some of the fastest shipping options in China, but they do also it using advanced retail and logistics technology. Their network even features unmanned vehicles that make delivers in more densely populated regions and drones that deliver orders for more remote regions.

 

It’s clear that JD.com has grown a lot since they started out as a brick and mortar electronics store and they are still advancing and getting even bigger. This means that their customers will be able to purchase what they need and want from anywhere in China.
